Answers to Mom's Questions

I don't have much time at all but I loved your questions!

I am in class basically all day then I go and teach investigators then I go back to class. Instead of going to different classes we have different teachers. We had Sister Evans for awhile because Sister Neilson had ACL surgery. But I seriously loved Sister Evans and I am really going to miss her. We also have Brother G who I actually have a really hard time with but Sister Sorensen gave me a good idea to write every thing that I like about him on a list and that has been helping me so much!

As an online coordinator I am in charge of making sure that the missionaries in my district are doing their online training in the MTC and making sure that we are spending appropriate amount of times on our email on pday. So its a pretty easy job but I am excited to be able to do it!

Sister Sorensens first name is Madeline! Then there is Sister Rhoton who is Anna then Sister Datwyler who is Arika. I love them all and they have seriously become my best friends, we have already talked about getting together again when we come home!

I already read and sent one email to you do I got to get going but thank you so much for the list and for the pictures and for the quote. I love it all so much. You are such a big strength to me!!! I love you so much,

Sister Harrison

Loving the work, Reading the Book of Mormon, Working Out and hurting butt!

I have gotten your letters from dearelder and I love them. Honestly they are a highlight of my day! We aren't able to get them until 9:30 at night which is honestly a blessing in disguise because I really need to keep my mind on the mission. I am trying to figure out how to send you pictures because I am seriously having the hardest time trying to figure out how to do the pictures. So if I figure that out I will send you ALL of the pictures.

My Pday is on Tuesdays, which means this morning I was able to go to the temple. Mom it was awesome. Seriously. I needed that so much. I loved it. It was kinda hard because when I was there I realized that I hadn't been in the temple with any one but family but then I realized that my district is becoming my family. I was able to help my companion which was cool because I have always been the one that needed the help!!

I need to email Scott Happy Fathers Day. I got his letter from DearElder and it was honestly a strength to me!

So the temple is going to be closed for two weeks but guess what.... We get to clean the temple!!! I am honestly so excited to be able to go do service in the temple by helping them clean. Seriously. So excited.

In the MTC one thing that I have seriously loved is Book of Mormon reading time, where we have been able to read as a district and read three verses then take time to find something in those verses that is applicable to us. I seriously would invite you to try reading scriptures this way as a family. It has brought me so much strength in this hard week that I have gone through.

But one Elder said something that I thought was so true. One day forward is still going forward. And I loved this. The MTC is hard. So hard. But I have been able to grow closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ every single day that I have been here. And guess what?!?! One week down, and many more to go (:

So my butt literally hurts from all the sitting in classes that I have been doing, but I am happy to report that every morning the sisters and I have been getting up at 5:40 to go to a sisters only exercise class! I love it! And we started running around the track during our exercise time just because you really need to use it wisely. I honestly sit so much so by the time I get to exercise I LOVE it!

I was able to watch a cool video by David Bednar that you can only find in the MTC!!! It was call the Character of Christ. It was seriously amazing and I wish that you guys could watch it. It talked a lot about how we spend so much time think as the natural man and how when we finally begin to turn outward towards, just as Christ does we will be able to come closer to him. I love this concept and I hope that I can begin to grow in that way.

We began teaching out first investigators this week, and they went really well. And honestly, ever since I stepped foot into the MTC my nervousness has left me and I have been able to feel the spirit all the time. This is literally God's University. Our investigators right now, all 4 of them, all come from different paths of life but they all have one thing in common. They have the desire to come unto Christ. As we begin to come unto Christ we begin to grow our faith, which leads to repentance, which leads to baptism, which leads to the Holy Ghost, which leads to Enduring to the End. Sister Sorensen said it in a great way the other day, the sacrament is basically a weekly baptism for each of us to have.

I hope that you get out of the house this week, it is awesome that you have the week to be away from work but make sure you go spend time with Chelsea or something, I know its going to be hard but I know that you are strong and that you can do anything. I love you so much and I am so grateful for and can feel your prayers that are said for me. I miss you! Any questions you have for me? Use DearElder. I seriously love it!! I love you mom. And miss you!!!

Love,

Sister Harrison

I LOVE the MTC!!

Today we were able to meet with our Branch President and he decided that he wanted to give us just a few minutes to write home! I just wanted to let you guys know that I am loving the MTC! It was really hard to have to leave you guys on Wednesday, but right as I walked into the building the spirit was able to come over me and I was able to be more excited rather then nervous, it also helped that I had a million and one missionaries saying hi to me and welcome to the MTC (Thanks to my little dork dot)! My companion is Sister Sorensen, she is from Pocatello Idaho! She is awesome and I am so glad I have her to learn from and be able to lean on as I have been here! Even though it is also really weird to have a companion, sometimes I forget and just start walking. It is also really different to be called Sister Harrison all the time, I honestly don't even really know my companion's first name... awkward! My district is awesome as well, the Elders are headed to Fresno California while all of us Sisters are headed to Eugene together, I honestly already have such a great love for them, they are already some of my closest friends. Since we have been here we have been able to focus a lot on our purpose as missionaries which is "Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel, through faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End." I love this statement and it has been able to give me so much strength since I have been here. Sister Rose gave me a cool quote on Sunday after my farewell and she said, "You may be leaving your family, but you are also leading them." I love this and I hope in some ways that I am able to lead you in one way or another. At the MTC we sit in classes ALL the time, everyone keeps telling me to just make it to Sunday! Our classroom is of course on the 5th floor of the building so you know we are toning our legs as well as learning how to listen and teach more with the spirit. When we met with the Branch President today I was given an assignment as an online coordinator! I am really excited for this assignment and to learn from it as I continue my time at the MTC, I am also the Senior Companion in my companionship! I am teaching my first investigator tomorrow and I am so excited but so nervous! Luckily I have Sister Sorensen to lean on when I need help. Well time is running out but I just wanted to let you know that I love you and I will be writing home again on Tuesday!!! I love you guys so much!

Love,
Sister Harrison
