We here in Klamath have an air base just down the street, so the other day we were tracting a Street and we literally had 18 planes/jets fly over head. It makes me feel like we are in world war 3, please let me know if we actually are.

It's HUMP WEEK my friends!!

MARCH 14, 2017

So for all of my fan club that may be wondering at this point, I did not get transferred this week. I'm still in Klamath Falls for another 5 weeks at least, which means I will be celebrating Easter/MY BIRTHDAY here in Klamath with the Klam Fam. Next transfer is only a 5 week transfer because there is a meeting that President Russell has to be at so they decided to change the transfer time. But the sad part about this transfer is that lovely little Sister Gregory got transferred today. She is going to Waldport which is on the coast, so you know we are all very jealous. But I am so sad to see her go and I think that we have been a little bit in denial about her actually going, but she is now gone and I miss her already. But change is the name of the game, I'm excited to meet my new companion! Her name is Sister Roach, and that is about all that I know! She is going to be a new Sister Training Leader with me in Klamath Falls, so I am excited to do some good work with her here in the area!

This last week has been so much fun, last Monday we were able to go Bowling as a Zone, Klam Fam bonding time, but it was weird because it got really competitive and contentious so we decided it was time to stop. A lot of the missionaries in Klamath Falls had been here for a long time so I think that everyone was just kind of feeling like it was the end of transfer week and it was stressful. But it was fun while it lasted. I was able to show off some of my bowling skills and actually almost won a couple of times. It was awesome. Then after Pday was over we got orders from President to leave Klamath Falls immediately to go to Central Point and stay with the sisters to go to MLC on Tuesday in Eugene. It had been snowing all day in Klamath Falls so he wanted us to go before it got dark over the pass. But we were able to drive safely and we made it to Central Point and we were able to have a sleep over with the sisters over there which was actually a lot of fun.

On Tuesday we had the opportunity to wake up really early and drive to Eugene. But it was actually a lot of fun because President Cropper, a member of the Mission Presidency, and we just asked him Gospel questions the whole way and we were able to receive a lot of information for him that I'm excited to study about later in life. It felt like the whole entire car was just doing one big companionship Study. It was fun, then when we got to Mission Leadership Counsel we were able to learn from our leaders. It was so much fun. We talked a lot about Church Attendance and getting our investigators to church to be able to receive revelation as they go to church. It was actually really relevant to what we needed in Klamath Falls, so that was really fun to be able to learn more of what we can do as missionaries. It was also a lot of fun to be with the other leaders and to be able to talk to them about ways that we can help our missionaries in our areas. I love the OEM. Seriously. So much love.

On Saturday Sister Gregory and Sister Pday went to the Medford temple with their recent converts so Sister Allen and I were able to spend the morning together. That morning Sister Allen told me that she was bitten by a dog the day before. Well in this mission anyone who gets bitten by a dog is supposed to report it immediately to the mission nurse, Sister Allen didn't know that. So we called and we ended up having to go to the lady's house whose dog bit her and ask if her dog was vaccinated. So then we went and the lady wasn't home. Well she kept trying to meet her the rest of the day, but no luck. So then Sister Allen got a call from President the next day telling her to go to the ER because they didn't know if the dog was vaccinated. So much fun, I felt bad that I made Sister Allen call, but you know, at least she is safe. Lol.

For my spiritual thought today I just wanted to share a quote that we were able to read during MLC this last week in Eugene. I was actually able to teach this segment during Zone Training Meeting. We talked about the Restoration and about how the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ is an ongoing process. We were able to read this quote from Dieter F Uchtdorf in the talk entitled "Are you Sleeping through the Restoration?" And it reads,

"Sometimes we think of the Restoration of the gospel as something that is complete, already behind us--Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, he received priesthood keys, the Church was organized. In reality, the Restoration is an ongoing process; we are living in it right now. It includes “all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal,” and the “many great and important things” that “He will yet reveal.” Brethren (all dear fan club members), the exciting developments of today are part of that long-foretold period of preparation that will culminate in the glorious Second Coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ."

I think a lot of the time while I am teaching the Restoration to my investigators I get caught in the this happened, then this happened, and so now the church is fully restored on the Earth today! But really we are all apart of that Restoration, and it is continuing to happen day after day. As we are able to understand what the Restoration of the Gospel is in our life then we will be able to fully appreciate what has happened and what is continuing to happen. I am so grateful that we have this church on the Earth today, and that it is continuing to be restored just like President Uchtdorf, I am so grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith and for all that we was able to sacrifice to help bring the church forward again. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I love that I am able to share that love and happiness every single day of my mission.

By the way, during MLC they showed us the new First Vision Video that was premiered at the Face to Face event with Elder Holland and President Eyring. It is called Ask of God. ALL OF YOU SHOULD GO WATCH IT RIGHT NOW. It is a cool video that makes it so you feel like you are in the Scared Grove at the time of the First Vision. I am so so so excited to start sharing this with my investigators. Also, the voice of Joseph in that video is the same guy who plays Jesus in the Bible Videos, weird right?

Well this week being transfers I don't really have a ton of time to write anymore, but I am so grateful for all of the people who emailed me today, so sorry that I don't have a ton of time. I hope to hear from all of you next week. I might not have Pday until Saturday next week because we have a Temple Trip, but I'm sure I will get to send a short email to inform you then. I love you all! Have a fabulous week!

 MARCH 6, 2017

Well another week has come and gone here in Klamath Falls! I feel like
the time is flying by, seriously could we make it stop for just a
minute? I feel like we need at least 24 more hours in the day to do
all the work that our Heavenly Father is preparing for us here in
Oregon. So let me just tell you about just a few of the miracles
happening.

First of all let me tell you about the time that we had a toilet
extravaganza happen. I was just starting my studies on Tuesday,
because we were supposed to have an apartment inception in just 5
short minutes so I decided to start my studies a little early. When
suddenly Sister Gregory ran into the study room saying the toilet was
flooding. I run in and there was water going everywhere. So we get the
water turned off and we are literally standing in toilet water when
the door bell rings for the apartment inspection. So we shut the
bathroom door and we couldn't stop laughing. So when the couple came
in they asked if anything was wrong with the apartment and we said no
but couldn't stop laughing. So we then told him what was wrong and he
told us just to get it fixed. So we then once they left took a selfie
with the toilet water and the towels on the ground. Man. That was the
worst timing.

Also another tender mercy this week. We were a little cold from the
freezing snow that we had been walking through and I was having a hard
time getting out of the car. So Sister Gregory took the car keys and
opened the front door for me. Well we finished what we needed to in
the apartment and we locked the door, I went to grab the keys and I
realized i didn't have them. I started to freak out because we only
had 5 minutes till dinner. So I ran to the car, it was locked and
didn't know what to do. When suddenly Sister Gregory remembered she
had the keys! It was a miracle!

This week was Book of Mormon week in the Klamath Falls Zone. We had a
challenge to pass out the most Books of Mormon. Well the first couple
of days were kind of bad for Sister Gregory and I but in the end we
were able to pass out enough copies that we got in 2nd place!! Sisters
Represent! It was epic.

We were able to go to Zone Conference this week in Medford. And it was
a lot of fun because we were able to caravan with the whole zone over
there, and it felt like we were a well connected zone family. It was
amazing. Zone Conference was epic. It is always so much fun to receive
Training and counsel from our mission President and the assistants.
One thing that really stood out to me was how impactful the Book of
Mormon is in our lives. It is really everything. The Book of Mormon
will tell us if the church is true. The Book of Mormon will teach us
that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Book of Mormon will teach
us about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love the Book of Mormon. And
listening to that at Zone Conference taught me that I need to get my
investigators more into the Book of Mormon. That as I do that I will
be able to help them find the answers that they are looking for.

This week we went to go meet with our amazing investigator who I
talked about last week who I found with Sister Allen, well she wasn't
home. We went by 3 times and every time she wasn't home. Then one
night I just felt like we really needed to go over there. Well when we
did she was home and invited us in. We started teaching her the
Restoration and we were sharing scriptures from the Book of Mormon
that she was highlighting then she was taking notes on everything that
we were talking about. Then we came to the part of the lesson when we
talked about Joseph Smith and prophets. We asked what she thought
about having prophets on the earth today. And she looked to me and
said, "there's a prophet here today?" When we told her yes her eyes
lite up and we could tell she was feeling the spirit. We showed her a
picture and then listened to a video of President Monson bearing his
testimony. The spirit was so strong and it testified to me that we do
have a prophet on the earth today, and I am so grateful for the
guidance and direction he gives us.

Well this week we had a mighty goal in mind for lessons. 30. We were
going to do it and we were going to work hard. Well it was Friday and
we had only taught 10 that whole week. I was studying in Preach my
Gospel and it talked about how our Heavenly Father is always preparing
people for us to teach. And I wanted to know how I was going to be
able to find the people he is preparing for me. We felt prompted that
We needed to go out and do a lot of finding that day. Within an hour
we taught 5 lessons, it was amazing. It was cold, and snowing and
windy, but the fire was burning within us. Heavenly Father is always
preparing people for us personally. I wouldn't have been sent here if
he wasn't. But we also have to remember that we have to prepare
ourselves for those people. We were able to teach 27 lessons this
week. We know that as we put forth all of our effort for this week
that we can reach the mighty goal of 30 lessons. Don't give up. Just
keep swimming!

So a lot of you might be wondering about the Phair food challenge.
This is a 10 year running event that happens at our bishops home here
in Klamath Falls. The wife does some sort of food and then us as
missionaries are challenged to eat it. Ours was okra, mustard, hot
sauce, lettuce and banana. And if we eat it we get a ice cream party.
Pretty exciting if you ask me, and also you get bragging points
because obviously you did the challenge. It wasn't that bad, the
banana made it alright, but it was fun to do it against the elders.

The scripture that I wanted to share with everyone this week is found
in the 8th chapter in Moroni in the Book of Mormon. This is a section
that his father Mormon wrote to Moroni just as he began his ministry.
And in verse 3 it says:

3 I am mindful of you always in my prayers, continually praying unto
God the Father in the name of his Holy Child, Jesus, that he, through
his infinite goodness and grace, will keep you through the endurance
of faith on his name to the end.

And I just want to let everyone know back at home that I am
continually praying for you. That you will continue to build your
faith in Christ and that you will be able to endure the trials that
you are going through at this time. I know that your Heavenly Father
is mindful of you and that he is watching over you always. Don't ever
forget that.

I'm so grateful for all of the love that everyone sends me every week.
And I am even more grateful for the prayers on my behalf. Keep going
strong people! The Lord needs us at this time to be our best, I know
you can do it!

PS Also, we were at a Members house for dinner the other day and the
daughter wanted to guess what everyone's first name was. She got my
name in like 2 seconds because their dogs name is Bailey. Also we were
tracting and this lady really wasn't interested but she said she would
take a Book of Mormon and read it. Well her dogs name was Bailey and
she kept telling the dog to stop jumping and barking. So as I'm
explaining the Book of Mormon she is standing there saying "Stop that
Bailey!" Or "No Bailey!" Man it was really hard to keep explaining
something to someone who keeps telling you no! Lol

Have a great week everyone!

FROZEN Missionary Videos

Flash Blizzard

I'm Melting...

FLASH BLIZZARD ❄️❄️❄️

Man, what a wonderful week that we were able to have here in Kfalls, missions are not easy but they are so worth it! When I was able to see all the miracles that happened this week I was just able to really recognize that being on a mission is where I need to be at this time in my life. I know that I am touching people lives and when I see these things happen it just brings so much happiness into my life. In missionary work it could be really easy to be let down by so much that happens but in the end I am here to share the happiness of the gospel with others. And if I am not happy, how are they going to be able to see that the gospel and bring themselves happiness! Yesterday during Relief Society they were talking about the talk entitled, "Joy and Spiritual Survival," by President Russell M Nelson. In the talk he says:

That’s it! Saints can be happy under every circumstance. We can feel joy even while having a bad day, a bad week, or even a bad year!
My dear brothers and sisters, the joy we feel has little to do with the circumstances of our lives and everything to do with the focus of our lives.

We are capable of being happy in any time of our life, but what should be the focus? What is your focus? Our focus should be on the SAVIOR. Always and forever. Every time that I am having a bad day here on the mission, I just go and testify about Christ, and that is what changes my whole day around, President Nelson then continues and says:

We can feel joy regardless of what is happening--or not happening--in our lives. Joy comes from and because of Him. He is the source of all joy.

I know that as we begin to make our focus on the Savior that we will be able to feel that everlasting joy that we are promised. "Men are, that they might have joy!" 2 Nephi 2:25, so my dear fan club, I want to invite you this week to find the happiness that our Heavenly Father desires you to have, and that can only be obtained through our Savior, bJesus Christ.

Alright so now I know you are all dying to hear about the many many miracles we had this week, so let's get started.

This week we were really trying to hit our transfer goal of hitting 30 lessons in a week, we didn't hit it unfortunately we only hit like 20. I feel like we have been so focused on trying to find people and teaching them that we have been more worried about the number and not so worried about the people. The Zone Leaders gave us a call the other day, because they are also trying to hit a # goal for lessons, and they gave us an idea from Preach my Gospel. We learn that we are supposed to teach people and not lessons, so they gave us the idea of making a listen of 30 people that we are going to try and teach, and focus on them, and pray for them and the lessons will come. And since we have been doing that we have found so much more success. I can feel this week will be the week where we will be hitting 30 lessons. I know it!

This week I was able to go on exchanges with a sister in our area for 24 hours. Her name is Sister Allen and she has only been out on her mission for a couple of weeks, but man she has the fire of Missionary Work about her, I seriously love her so much. She actually played for the soccer team at Weber State which is pretty awesome, the church makes the world so so so small. Anyway, we were able to start out exchange by setting goals and Sister Allen suggested that we make the goal to find 4 new investigators that day, at first I thought that was a little too high, but we decided to go with it. When we went tracting we literally found 2 investigators at the first 2 doors we knocked on. When you tell Heavenly Father your righteous goals, and you put in the work, he will provide. Then we went tracting again later that night and we found this one investigator. She is seriously the most amazing person. It was probably the best tracting experience I have had on my whole mission. We knock on the door and she lets us in immediately. She tells us about how she is going through a lot of hard times in her life right now, and just a week ago she was praying asking God for help. Since then 3 religious groups knocked on her door, the Jehovahs Witnesses, the Baptist church and the Mormons, meaning us. She asked so many questions that just lead perfectly into us teaching the Restoration, like, "what makes your church different," "I want truth in my hands," "why are there so many different churches," and so many other different questions that I was just in awe. We were able to recite to her the first vision and testify about the Book of Mormon that we were showing her. Once we were done explaining what the Book of Mormon contained she said, "can I have that book, and the Pamphlet too?" The spirit was so strong. When I was testifying about The Book of Mormon being another testament of Jesus Christ I felt like her eyes were staring at my soul. I feel like we could have put her on date for baptism right then and there! We have a lesson with her tomorrow, so don't be surprised if I write a novel about it next week! It was such a BLESS-ED exchange!

To end this week I wanted to share with my fan club about the Flash Blizzard that we experienced yesterday. Being the end of the month we are trying to stay good on miles for the rest of the month, so we parked at one end of the street and decided to walk to our investigators house. Well we were walking and the snow started picking up when suddenly it started to Blizzard right in front of our eyes. The snow was pelting us in the throats if we talked and we were as white as snow men. Literally 10 minutes before hand I had made a comment about the few flakes in the air that if it was going to snow it should just dump on us. Well it did. We were only in our investigators house for 10 minutes when suddenly we walked back out and there was an inch on the ground. AN INCH! Sister Gregory and I couldn't stop laughing and by the time we defrosted in the car we needed to wipe off the water on our face with the tissues we had. I thought spring was on it's way but now I'm questioning it from that Blizzard we jus had!

Well fan club, thanks for all the emails this week. I am so grateful for all of you and hope you have the most spectacular week! Love you lots!

Treasure Hunt for PDay

Displaying IMG_2819.JPG
This week for Pday Sister Gregory and I put a lot of effort into a
scavenger hunt for the Zone, we made up a bunch of clues and we made
cookies for the losers, because you know, we don't want them to feel
bad for themselves. The winner got a small Blizzard from Dairy Queen.
It was so good! There were a lot of confusions but it ended up being
slot of fun, we spent the last couple of 9-10 hours working on it,
maybe we can do it again for Easter!
