ORE”GONE”

1/1/2018

Howdy Fan Club, HAPPY NEW YEAR! The New Year is a great time to be
able to make New Years Resolutions and to think about where you have
come from and the person that you are because of that. Yesterday in
Sacrament Meeting they made the comment about being good with your
goals till February, well even if you are only good with working out
or scripture study for that whole month, it is still a month closer to
that goal! So keep making goals, and keep becoming better. As for
Sister Nielsen and I, we were in bed last night at 10:30 and we
weren’t even upset!!

Alright so amazing things happened this week including KENS BAPTISM!
All week we prepared and we planned then Sunday came around and we
walked in and found out that Ken got to church an hour early because
he was so excited to come to church and to be baptized last night! He
was beaming all day and it was such a tender moment to watch him walk
into the waters of baptism even if he said that it felt like creek
water because it was cold! At the end of the baptism we asked him how
he felt and he said that he felt like a new man! New Year, New Ken!
Another cool thing that happened during Kens baptism was that his non
member daughter came to the baptism! And she said that she wasn’t
going to be able to make it! But we started talking to her and she
said that she was interested in Family History and we already got her
hooked up with an awesome member who is going to help her out! It was
such a great way to start the New Year out right!

This week I had the opportunity to go to the Portland Temple for the
first time! We went with President and Sister Orton and all of the
departing sisters. One of the men in the session with us said that the
session was filled with the spirit! It was such a good day, and I love
the Portland Temple! It is so beautiful so please recognize all of the
cute pictures below.

This week we had a lesson with one of our awesome investigators named
Heather. I love Heather! She has been through so much in life and this
week in her lesson she asked us how she thinks she is progressing. She
then asked us if we have ever met anyone as broken as she is. And it
made me think about all of the people that I have met who are broken,
at some point of another I think we are all broken. But I have been so
grateful for the opportunity to meet those who feel broken and to help
them see the light that they can receive. I am so grateful for the
hope that comes from the gospel.

My whole mission the hardest key indicator to fill has been to get
people to church. Because it all has to do with agency and people get
to make that choice. Well yesterday we had 4 people in Sacrament
Meeting. A Member brought 2 people to church who we had never met
before and they became new investigators, it was a huge miracle and it
was awesome to see that many non members attending church. BLESSED
SABBATH.

The last couple of weeks I have been thinking about how I have been
able to see the Lords hand in my missionary work. And I can testify
that I have been able to see the Lord help me every single day that I
have been a missionary. This truly is the Saviors work here on this
Earth and I feel honored that I have been able to play even a small
part of that work. Heavenly Father loves all of his children and I am
grateful to have been able to feel a little bit of that love as I have
been able to serve and teach them here in Oregon. I am grateful for
the Book of Mormon and for the opportunity that I have been able to
testify of its truthfulness everyday. I will never forget the
countless people that I have been able to invite to come closer to
Christ. He is our Savior and our Redeemer. I love Him. The Mission
that I have been on has pretty great, but I know that I can not take
any credit for it because it has actually been the Lords Mission.

Alma 26:12
Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore
I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his
strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we
have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

Well Fan Club, See you in ✌🏼 days. Love you all, and don’t forget to
WORK HARD because the work ain’t over yet!

Love, Your Favorite Sister Missionary,

Sister Harrison ❤️
