One Year Down, who knew?

6/19/2017

Man, what a week! So many miracles and so many laughs! It is getting really hot here in Klamath, and we just think it is because the work is literally on fire. And we learned from experience this week that Sister Roach and I will be putting on sunscreen everyday, because we may or may not have gotten sunburnt this week, and literally EVERYONE  commented on it. Luckily Aloe is key and we now have nice tans. So the work is still on fire, but we will not be getting sunburnt!

This week we had our last Zone Conference with President and Sister Russell. It was an amazing meeting but at the same time it was super emotional because we knew that this was going to be the last time that we were going to see President and Sister Russell. We talked a lot about the Savior and his Earthly Ministry. In preparation for Zone Conference we had to study 5 miracles and 5 parables. And then President picked about 15 missionaries to get up and speak. And it was funny when we sat down right before that I turned to Sister Roach and I said "Are you ready to speak?" And she started freaking out, and then she did speak! She was the only one in our Zone to speak and she did a great job. We can learn so much from the Saviors Ministry and I was so grateful to learn from those miracles and parables. We then just talked a lot about the Savior and President and Sister Russell gave us some departing comments to always remember. I am really going to miss them. Weird to think they will be gone. But I am already feeling a great love for President and Sister Orton. Half way through the Conference the Assistants had prepared a video of all of us missionaries, I wish I could send it but apparently it is too long. Just of us missionaries talking about what we learned from President and Sister Russell. Then we ended by singing the EFY Medley to them. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. The spirit that comes through singing is so powerful and so real. I am so grateful for the opportunity we had to go.

Oh my fan club, we had an awesome lesson with Vic this last week! We were able to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and then go over Tithing and Baptismal Interview questions! And he seriously, is just teaching us every lesson. I don't know how he has so much knowledge in that brain of his but he is so ready to be baptized on July 1st! He had his interview before church on Sunday and he passed! We started talking about when his baptism will be so we can just invite everyone. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have had to teach him and watch him progress this much. When he talks about why this is the time to get baptized he talks about how he wants to do this for his kids, he is such a great guy! And he even came to church even though it was fathers day. His dad called him that morning and invited him to go out to Breakfast with the family and he said "no dad, I am going to church!!" WOW! I am so excited for him and the steps that he is taking.

This week the Zone Leaders informed Sister Roach and I that we will be speaking at their investigators baptism next week! Her name is Jessica and she is YSA, so it is summer time and not many YSA members are still around. So we met her a couple of weeks ago and she asked us to speak! I am super excited, I will be speaking on the Holy Ghost!

So I hit my year mark this last week. Time is going by so fast, but I still tell everyone that I am still brand new. I had one of the new sister missionaries fooled for a couple of days until someone mentioned my year mark, lol. Still working hard and still growing! I have tons of time to teach the gospel to all of Oregon!

This week Sister Roach and I decided to do something different with our tracting and finding time. I seriously feel like I have tracted all of our area after being here for 5 months. So we decided to go and contact a lot of formers and potentials. And guess what? We found 10 new investigators this week doing our finding that way! It is so awesome to find new ways of doing the same thing in the Lords vineyard! I am so excited to teach those new people that we found this week!

We were able to meet with Camiel this week. We taught her about the plan of salvation to her and it was such an amazing experience. When we asked her if she had ever thought of the questions "Where did I come from, Why am I here and where am I going?" She said those are million dollar questions that we all ask about it life! Although we found out that there are a couple of things that would be holding her back from being baptized so we are going to have to take her off date for the time being. But we are still meeting with her and she is still reading the Book of Mormon daily and progressing in the gospel! We are teaching her today at one and hope to be able to teach her more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has such a strong spirit about her and even with her anxiety she is beginning to see the answers come into her life that she has been praying for.

We had a lesson with Valaurie this week, the lady that was smoking as we put her on baptism date. AND IT WAS A COMPLETE 180! We went outside and taught her a lesson and she talked about how she knew God sent us to her for a reason and that she really did want to change her life and be baptized in the Mormon church! She already knows about the Word of Wisdom and is willing to change those things so that she can find answers and be the person she wants to become. Seriously the spirit was so strong. We talked about the Book of Mormon and she said that she feels like it is true already, but we did tell her that she still needs to pray about it. Man, we think we are going to be able to move up her baptism date! We started inviting her to church and talking about how we would find her a ride, when suddenly I felt really prompted to invite her to the baptism that some other missionaries were having that day. AND SHE SAID YES but she needed a ride. So a name popped into my head of a member so right after the lesson we went to that members house and she was so willing to help out! so Valaurie went to Chuck Swanson's baptism (4th ward Elders investigator) and loved every minute of it! She said that she felt peace being in the church building and she loved how it was personal. It was so epic! She was supposed to come to church yesterday but she ended up waking up with a migraine, dang it! But next week for sure!

We had a really cool experience contacting people this week, we met a lady named Glenda last week and then this week we met her daughter in law Tori. At first Tori seemed like a young adult who just doesn't care about the things that we go around and talk about. But I sat there and talked to her for 30 minutes! She was so interested about what we do as missionaries and then as we talked I was able to teach the gospel. We focused mostly on families since she is going to be in that life sooner rather then later and she loved it. She talked about how she wants to grow closer to Jesus Christ and asked if we could come back! Ummm ya, I think we can. I love how when we least expect it that Heavenly Father puts us in the right place at the right time that we need to be. Thank goodness for the spirit.

This week I was able to watch the President Eyring and Elder Holland Face to Face event and man, I invite everyone who hasn't seen it to go watch it ASAP! There is so much to learn from our leaders in that short video, so take the time out of your day to learn from it, I think it is great for all ages! But there was a quote that I wanted to share from President Eyring, it says, "I give up- I just want what you want!" Man that hit me hard. I feel like I am to the point in my mission where I am that person. I am not trying to do what I want but I am doing what the Lord wants. Obviously I am not perfect and I make mistakes but I know that as we turn our lives to the Savior that we will not be able to go wrong and that we will find success in what ever we are doing. So I invite all of you to turn your will into the Saviors will and let me know how it goes!

Well fan club, this is the end for this week. I am so grateful to be serving the Lord and I am grateful to see his hands in all things. I love him and I know this church is true! Keep up the great work and be strong!

---Remember who you are and who God expects you to become!---

I love to see the temple!

We had zone conference this week and it was a half mission meeting, which meant I got to see a lot of my favorite people. Soooo here is a family picture! Elder Stohl (left) was trained by Elder Mafi (right) at the same time as me in Melrose. So you know, family picture was needed because Elder Stohl and I hit our year mark!! CRAZY
3 Generation photo! Please notice my tan lines on my feet please.
I love these Sisters so much, they are doing amazing work in the areas they are serving.

We might have gone and gotten ice cream for my year mark... it was necessary. And it was delicious!!

Let the Holy Spirit Guide!

June 13, 2017

Man this week has just been fantastic, I am not going to lie the beginning of the week was really rough, but you know that is just what comes with Missionary Work! But the outcomes that came from last week were so worth the rough couple of days. Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven FOR SURE!!

Ummm so exciting news! Well first not so exciting news, with transfers they took Sister Missionaries out of Brookings :( BUT because they did that Sister Nowell is now serving in Grants Pass!! So I will see her at Zone Conference tomorrow! It is President Russell's last Zone Conference so it will be a half mission meeting. I am excited to be able to see so many missionaries but most importantly to be able to learn from the spirit. Zone Conference is always so great, so get ready to see how it went next week! In preparation for it we have had to study 5 miracles and 5 parables. It has been so enriching to learn from the Saviors life. SO powerful. LOVE it.

Yesterday we were able to have our last interview with President Russell. It is so weird to see how his mission is coming to an end. We have been asked to pray for President and Sister Orton in all of our prayers to help prep the mission for their coming. It has been really cool to see how much I have already been able to grow my love for them. Man it will be so awesome. During my interview President shared a lot of scriptures but one of the scriptures that he shared is one that I want to share with you. It is Moroni 7:13:
13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.
It is important to realize that everything good that happens in our life is coming from God. And I remember in the Missionary Broadcast this year Elder Bednar talked about any good thought that comes into our mind is from the Spirit. So recognize those good things that are coming into your life and show God your gratitude for them!

Okay so within the last week Sister Roach and I have received 2 Mormon.org Referrals! It was funny since because we just barely talked about how we NEVER receive Mormon.org referrals. Well, first referral, Dee. He was an interesting character, lets just say I am SO grateful that we had the member that we had. He is a nice bible bashed, but by the end of the meeting he was getting a little bit more aggressive. He wanted us to teach the lesson his way. He had 3 questions, 1. Who is God, 2. Who is Jesus, 3. What is the gospel. It is hard when people want things done their way because then as missionaries we cant do our job. He said in his referral that he was interested in learning about the Book of Mormon.... he never even asked about the Book of Mormon, I brought it up! Funny guy. Next time the lesson will go our way hopefully. The second referral we received, her name is Val. We had a lesson with her yesterday and man.... interesting haha. We taught her the Restoration and by the end we invited her to be baptized and she said yes, on date for September 16th, and then she started to roll a joint... we haven't taught her the Word of Wisdom yet. So that is coming pretty quick. It was really funny because we came to the church right after the lesson and President and Sister Russell were still there, so we told the Zone Leaders about who we just put on date and everything and we said "yeah and she rolled a joint" then Sister Russell said "yeah and she was willing to join"! Hahaha we were laughing so hard. But we were grateful for our Mormon.org referrals.

Okay, so let me just tell you about our man Vic for just a sec. We taught him last week the commandments the Law of Chastity and the Word of Wisdom and man. He agreed to start living them right then so he can be baptized on July 1st!!!! VIC IS GOING TO GET BAPTIZED!!!! We showed him the font last week and it was such a spiritual experience. We asked him if there was anything holding him back and he said no! He was at church this week and in Sunday School I was confused on who was teaching the lesson because his comments were amazing! Then yesterday something happened that I had never experienced... We received a text saying this and only this "Let the Holy Spirit Guide May 2017 Liahona" WHAT THE. We texted him back saying that is an awesome talk, did you read it? And he said "yes, and I just felt prompted to share it with you sisters have an awesome day!" Since when do investigators send you talk suggestions! FREAKIN AWESOME!

We taught a lesson to a Part Member family, the Spiveys, this week. It was such an awesome lesson. We were teaching the Restoration and usually their little girls are all over the place, but during the whole lesson the spirit was there and they were able to learn. The non member husband was quiet but he was very much so listening so that was really cool. And their 9 year old daughter is just BRILLIANT!! We asked her what the priesthood was and she said the permission to act in the name of God. Wow. I don't think I knew that at 9! It was such a great lesson and we decided to commit them to read the scriptures and pray as a family, we will see what happens next week!

This week, there is a member who we stop by her house all the time to use the restroom. And apparently the toilet seat has been broken, I didn't notice. Well we stopped by her house the other day and she freaked out she was so excited and told me that she bought a new toilet seat just for me. Lol. Gotta love Members.

We taught a lesson to a Less Active Family this week and his grandchildren are non members. It was interesting because when we asked them why they were less active and he talked about how it is because the church gave him too many responsibilities. I had never heard that excuse before! But he is willing to be supportive of his grand kids learning and to be able to just go slow through the lessons. So we just talked about how God is our Heavenly Father and we invited them to pray. It was a good lesson and we hope to meet with them more often.

We had some interesting tracking experiences. But the only one that I am thinking of is this lady named Carrie. She answered the door and the first thing she said is "You aren't JWs right?" Uhhhh no. "OH THANK GOODNESS" lol, so funny, she then tells us that her sister is mormon, so we asked if she lived in the area! "Oh no, actually she is a meth addict in Reno, oh and she is homeless" oh... she then told us we should probably send members of the truth to find her. Uhhh.... Awkward situations. We also had a funny experience this old lady asked, sincerely, to Sister Roach, if there were really mormons in Virginia... hahaha so funny. She couldn't believe it.

Well Brothers and Sisters, I feel like there is so much more that I could talk about but I just cant think about what more to say. The Book is Blue and the Church is True Ladies and Gents. Put God first and you will never be last. Remember who you are and who God expects you to be. Doubt your doubts before you doubt your fears. Hold to the rod the Iron Rod. I think that's all I got. HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEK!!!!

Love you and Miss you all!!!

Staying in the Klam Fam ✌🏼

June 5, 2017

Well first things first Fan Club. This week is transfers week, and I am sure you are all dying to know the verdict. Well... Sister Roach and I are staying together another 6 weeks! You know, at first I was a little disappointed. Just because I have already been here 4 and a half months and I really thought that it was my time to leave. But I was excited to spend some more time with Sister Roach, because honestly I just love her. But as the weekend continued I began to just realize how much work that my Heavenly Father still needs me to do in Klamath Falls. I saw so many miracles, and I know that I say that all the time, but I am telling you the miracles never stop when it comes to missionary work! This next 6 weeks is going to be the time that the Klamath Falls 3rd ward baptizes, and I know that is true (:

Lets start with the beginning of the week! We woke up really early Tuesday Morning, 3:30 to be exact and drove to Medford and then went all the way to Bandon, THE COAST! We had our last Mission Leadership Council (MLC) with President Russell. Basically it was the best meeting that I have been to, because obviously we were able to sit on the beach while learning about the gospel, HOW MUCH BETTER CAN IT GET! But it was so much fun. We first started at the little Branch Building that Bandon has and we were able to talk about some concerns happening in the mission. Then after we ate lunch we went to the beach and we had an awesome object lesson with a kite. We learned about how we as the leaders of the mission need to help our fellow missionaries soar to new heights. Then President Russell talked about how we are the watchmen on the towers, and we are the ones that are going to be able to help our missionaries to safety. To me the whole meeting just showed me that it means a lot to be in Mission leadership. And to be a missionary at all! It is a sacred trust that our Heavenly Father has given us to be able to share his message and love and happiness with his children. And we need to try our hardest to do our very best! I am so grateful for our wonderful leaders in our mission. It is very strange to me that the next Mission Leadership Council that I will be in is with President Orton.... ahhh time is going so fast!

On Wednesday.... it rained! And I felt like the "drought" we were having in Oregon was over hahaha. Really it has been super hot here in Klamath and I think that I have just gotten used to the winter weather. But it was so nice to have that rain just for the day!

We had an awesome lesson with our on date Vic this week! We met him at the church instead of going to his house and we were able to have Bishop Phair come to the lesson as well. And of course Sister Burton, because well we needed a woman! But it was so good. We started out by just talking about 2 Nephi 31 because that was the chapter that we invited him to read and he shared his thoughts and it turned out to be more of a group discussion which I love! And he truly shared his testimony on just wanting to be truly converted before baptism. And we talked about how that is great and we want that too, but he will never be perfect before baptism. And we think that was something that he had been a little confused on. There is a difference between conversion and perfection. It was so great to have Bishop there. We talked about the importance of church and talked about the reasons why he hasn't been coming to church. And at one point we asked him what his thoughts were and he responded with saying something like "Well, it means something when 4 people are here just to tell me that I am lazy and need to get my butt to church". We all laughed and explained that we knew that is where he would get is answer! So we committed him to come to church on SUNDAY!

So just the other day I was asking Sister Roach if she had ever gotten a referral from Mormon.org, and she said no not really I don't think. And then, this week, when I finally got my ipad set up we got and email from none other then Mormon.org! His name is Edward and we called him and had a mini lesson over the phone. He has been doing some investigating and he would like his own copy of the Book of Mormon! So we have a lesson with him tonight!!!! He sounds super promising!

We had splits this week and I was able to go with Sister Teeples, our Ward Mission Leaders Wife. And I felt prompted to go and see this less active who we have gone and seen quite a few times and we have always had nice visits with her. Well we went and saw her again and if was very inspired because it had been a rough day. It was the 3 year anniversary of her husband passing away. We were able to leave a nice message with her that left her with peace and she said that she is going to come back to church as soon as she can. I love being able to see the spirit work in the Lord work!

Oh my goodness Fan Club. Okay. So we had yet another lesson with Camiel this week. The spirit was so strong. She told us that she is going through a lot right now and that the only comfort and she has been able to receive is when she is reading from the Book of Mormon. HOW COOL IS THAT! She had a lot of questions with 2 Nephi 31 that we left her. She was wondering what the difference was between baptism of water and fire. She then had questions about the difference between the baptism when she was a baby and the baptism that she could receive now. When we were able to explain to her that God is her Loving Heavenly Father, she was in tears. She knows that God sent us to her in a time that she needed us. We taught the whole restoration and we invited her to pray about everything that we taught her for herself. The spirit was strong and she could feel it, we explained what that feeling was and how she can feel that all the time. The only struggle that she has is a big one. She has severe anxiety. We asked if we could bring a member with us next time we come and she said she wasn't ready for that quiet yet. I am even surprised that she is letting us come back as much as she is. She is a strong woman. And I know for a surety that she will be baptized one day. It will just take her time. We set a goal with her for August 12th. WE LOVE CAMIEL!

With all the good times in missionary work there are always going to be lows. This week there was a baptism for a investigator in 1st ward that Sister Roach and I so badly wanted to go to. But we knew the only way we could go is if one of our investigators would come. So we invited everyone, and one of our investigators told us that they were going to be there. We texted them multiple times that day and they kept saying they were going to be there. Then, as we were waiting in the hallway for them, they never showed up and we began to hear the ward start the baptism. Our hearts broke. We still don't know why they didn't show up and I am sure there is a reason. It just makes me remember that sometimes we have to hit those hard times to feel the good times. Because sure that was hard. But so many great things happened after that! our Heavenly Father still loves us and wants us to do our best! So that is exactly what we did!

Alright so one of those miracles was the same night as the baptism we got a call from our former investigator John. Some of you might remember John and Tyanne. They were the couple that their biggest thing was they needed to get married to get baptized. And we dropped them for a little bit just to give them some space. That was about two weeks ago. Well John calls us and tells us that he and Tyanne broke up and that she is going back to Indiana and that he wants to start new in his life. We were his #homegirls, for a few minutes there and let him vent. But then we asked him why he called us. And he said that he knew we would be able to listen and that we can help him start new! What the WHAT! JOHN! We were freaking out. But we had to hang up the phone because we had a mission wide conference call. So we told John that we would call him and talk to him more about it later. He said that he has been so grateful for the things that we have helped him with so far and that he knows that this is the road he needs to take. TALK ABOUT A CHANGE OF HEART!

Okay so another miracle. We have been trying to get Vic to church for WEEKS. And this week in his lesson we committed him. So we were planning on seeing him there. At one point we were walking around the church and we thought we saw his truck outside so we were trying to see if it was his and Bishop saw us and laughed and motioned us down the hallway, HE CAME!!!!! Excitement filled my body and it was just so epic. You know, sometimes I am scared to bring investigators to Fast & Testimony meeting, because you never know what you are going to get. But the whole meeting was focused on parenting which is EXACTLY what Vic needed. He even shed a couple of tears during it. Seriously, the spirit is awesome. This is what missionaries LIVE for. Well we had texted the Gospel Principles teacher and told her we had an investigator... she didn't come to church. Well no fear, Sister Roach and I taught the class instead! We taught probably the best Plan of Salvation lesson that I have ever taught. I know the spirit took over. And Vic was even able to bear his testimony to the class!!! He is so ready, and I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to teach him. He stayed all 3 hours and it was EPIC!

One last miracles, last week the Zone made the goal for every companionship to find 10 investigators. Well yesterday morning we had found 4 investigators for the week. Which isn't bad, but it wasn't our goal! So we just fasted (fast Sunday) and prayed to find those people. We found 6 new investigators before DINNER. Wow. God is so GOOD. In the end our zone has 8 companionships and we found 81 new investigators. Seriously the best week in the Transfer. KLAMATH FALLS ZONE IS ON FIRE!!!!

The thought that I wanted to leave with all of you today came to me as I was studying Preach my Gospel this week. It had to do with Joseph Smith History 1:11-13, when Joseph Smith is seeking his answers to his questions and read James 1:5-6. We all know this story so I won't go too much into it, but as I was answering a few questions in my study journal about the incident, a question came to my mind, "What knowledge and truths have you been given in your life because Joseph Smith sought out answers?" So I wish to invite everyone to think of that for themselves. I know that I wouldn't be where I am in my life, with the knowledge that I have because Joseph Smith asked of God. I know that God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ live and that they love us so much. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it was only brought to us after Joseph Smith was able to pray to our Heavenly Father. I know that we have a living day prophet on the earth today, and his name is Thomas S Monson. I know that the priesthood power of God has been restored again on the earth. I know that we can receive answers to our prayers, and that God hasn't stopped talking to his children. So many other things go into the knowledge that we have received that I could go on for awhile. But I am grateful that a 14 year old boy had a question, and look and see how is studying and seeking for an answer has changed all of our lives for the better! I know the gospel is true and I am grateful for the opportunity I have to study and teach it everyday of my mission!

Well Fan Club, I hope you are all excited that I am staying in Klamath Falls another transfer because I am getting pretty pumped! President Russell told Sister Roach and I last night that we are doing such great work down here that he just cant separate us! And that his is excited to see what this transfer will bring!!! And basically, the whole ward is just in shock that they got what they wished for, so they are pretty excited too! I am so grateful to be an instrument in the Lords hands in his vineyard! More miracles to come next week! I hope you all have a fabulous week and stay safe!!! Love you all!!

Work Hard.

---Remember who you are and who God EXPECTS you to become---

In K Falls, we make miracles!!!

May 29, 2017

Hey Fan Club! I can't wait to tell you all about the many many many miracles that Sister Roach and I were able to see this week in Klamath Falls! And for some of you who I just barely added to my weekly email, I am so sorry. I am just very slow at this whole adding people, and if you don't want to receive my weekly just let me know (:

Alright, alright, I know you all want to hear about our fund Pday activity that we had last week! We were able to go to the Lava Bed National Monument down in Tulelake, California! We were able to drive down there with an awesome member in our ward here in Klamath Falls 3rd ward, Sister Burton! It was about an hour drive from Klamath Falls and then once we got there we were able to just start going and exploring through caves. We packed sack lunches and had a little picnic and while when we were done eating Sister Broadhead, a sister in the zone who goes home in like a week, was able to share her testimony with us. It was very powerful! The story with the Lava Beds is basically thousands of years ago there was a volcano that erupted and the lava left little areas where we can now go through and climb and explore. We stayed together as a zone and it actually ended up being so much fun. At some points you could just walk through the caves and then at other points you can to crawl. But it was so much fun, and we had our safety first, wearing our bicycle helmets, because President Russell said so! And honestly, I hit my head so many times I was grateful for a helmet. At the end we were also able to go look at petroglyphs and tried to figure out what people from hundreds of years ago were saying. We had a blast and I wouldn't even mind going there again some day!

We had a good lesson this week with a man named Vic, he is currently on date for July 1st. His biggest problem is that he doesn't have coming to church set as his priority. Which is really sad to me because I love church! But we were able to teach him the Restoration and talk about the importance of that and basically he bore a strong witness that he knew that everything that we were talking about was true. He has met with many missionaries before us. So the spirit was really there and we challenged him to make it a priority to come to church and he said that he is going to pray about it this week and next week we are going to have a lesson at the church which I think is going help a lot!

This week for splits with members of our ward I was able to go with Sister Thomas. We stopped by an older less actives house and we talked to them for a good 30 minutes and shared with them a message about the Book of Mormon. The cool thing about the whole experience was that we found out the wife is not a member! We thought we  they were both members and once we got talking we found out that she wasn't, but that she has her own copy of the Book of Mormon, and she has come to church many times and everything! She kept saying "They haven't got me yet!" Yet being the key word. So we shared the short message about the Book of Mormon that President Monson shared with us at General Conference. It promises us 5 things as we read the Book of Mormon each day: 1. We will be in the position to hear the spirit 2. We will resist temptation 3. To overcome doubt 4. And fear 5. Receive heavens help in our lives.... I think these are pretty great promises! And the Less Active/Part Member family loved it! Although, because they have so many health issues they said we can only come once a month... but we will keep working with them!

This coming week all leadership in the mission has the opportunity to go to the COAST for Leadership Training! It will be President Russell's last leadership meeting, sad, but we get to the coast! We get to leave early tomorrow morning, Sister Roach and I are really pumped!!!!

We were able to find 11 new investigators this week, and we taught 31 lessons! It is funny how when you just throw yourself into the work that it doesn't even feel like you are doing that much, but because you are focusing on the Lord and his work so many miracles come! This is the last week of the transfer and we made a challenge for the whole zone to at least find 10 new investigators. So we are excited to see all the success that we are able to continue finding in the Klamath Falls Zone!

HAHAHA K falls... get it?

Okay, so I told you all about the amazing experience that we had with Camille last week. She was the lady that we tracted into and all 3 of us ended up crying on her doorstep, super cool spiritual experience. WELL we met with her again this week AND she has been reading the Book of Mormon! She has a lot of health issues that she is going through and she has gotten to a point in her life where she feels like she needs to find a spiritual out look where she can feel healed in a way. Her whole life she has had so many questions about religions but no one has given her the time of day to answer her questions! It was such a cute mini lesson. She had to go to an appointment so we weren't able to get into a in depth lesson. BUT she is excited to meet with us again this week and we gave her some specific chapters to read. Oh and we invited her to be baptized saying once she knew all of what we were telling her was true, that she would!!! She is so golden!

We had a couple of interesting tracting experiences this week.... 1. This guy answered the door and was very kind, and we asked him if he had ever read from the Book of Mormon, he said "no and I am not interested", so we said, "Oh so what have you heard about it?" Then he said "That it is full of false doctrine!" Then we just said, "Oh so have you read it?" And he said no again, but told us that he didn't want to. I think its funny when you just take other peoples word for it. Literally as missionaries we invite people to read it and find for themselves, I guess that just means they aren't prepared! 2. We talked to this man for about 30 minutes about the Restoration on his door step, he was a cool dude who showed us pictures of his hobby, restoring old guitars! But then things got weird and he started telling us about how he got his faith... that he died and came back to life and found out his brother killed him... he said it was a long story, and we said we would love to hear it and he just walked in side his house and didn't come back.... 3. We knocked on this house and in the back yard you could see a lady laying out in her swim suit, well she got up and we thought she was going to come talk to us.... then a man answered the door and his dog got out, we helped him get his dog then he went in and closed the door... then suddenly we see the lady walk back outside in the back yard... we try to talk to her... nothing... we wait for the guy to come back.. nothing. So... we waited a couple of minutes then left. 4. We met this guy and he started talking about how his faith has really helped him get through his divorce during the last couple of months, we started explaining what we as missionaries do and left him a Restoration Pamphlet and scheduled a time for next week! Then, suddenly, he asked if we had a leader in our church with the last name of Snow... And I responded Lorenzo Snow? Then he said, ya thats him! And he started quoting Lorenzo Snow and asking a ton of questions... it should be an interesting return appointment. Obviously he has done his research.

One of my favorite door approaches that I have been using lately has been to ask people what they believe their purpose in life is. It is interesting to see what peoples response is and to see where they are spiritually. Most people give answers like, to work and make money or to raise my kids. But there is so much more to the lives that we live and there are so many people who don't even know! I love being a missionary to help show them what their REAL purpose in life is.

We had a really cool dinner last night. It was with a Part Member family, the mom is a returning less active and the dad is a non member and they have 3 little girls. Well the dad has been coming to church every single week since I have been in Klamath Falls. That is 4 and a half months people!!! One time at dinner his wife told us about how he has been reading the Book of Mormon and more recently he chose to take of a Sunday a month for the summer to come to church! (He fights fires so he only gets one day a month off, and he chose Sundays #GOLDEN) And every time we try to invite him to take the missionary discussions at dinners their 2 year old is usually all over the place so it is just not the right place or time. BUT last night we shared a video about the restoration for our dinner message and invited the whole family to receive the lessons and they all said YES!!! We are so excited, although their summer is going to be super busy with him gone a lot, we are going to make it work!!

I am sure there are like a million and one more little miracles that happened this week... But I can't think of them!

A scripture that I wanted to share with everyone today is one found in Doctrine and Covenants Section 58 verses 2-4, it says,
2 For verily I say unto you, blessed is he that keepeth my commandments, whether in life or in death; and he that is faithful in tribulation, the reward of the same is greater in the kingdom of heaven.
3 Ye cannot behold with your natural eyes, for the present time, the design of your God concerning those things which shall come hereafter, and the glory which shall follow after much tribulation.
4 For after much tribulation come the blessings. Wherefore the day cometh that ye shall be crowned with much glory; the hour is not yet, but is nigh at hand.
I love these verses, in life as we are all going through tribulation we must remember that our Heavenly Father has it all worked out, God has the things designed for the hereafter and as his children all we need to do is hold on. We may not see the blessings from the trials that we go through right away. But we are PROMISED that after MUCH tribulation comes the blessings. So what are we do to now? Look back at verse 2, we are to keep the commandments and be FAITHFUL during our tribulation. We were sent here to this Earth to be tested to see where we stand in the end. I know it is hard to stay obedient, and no one is perfect. But I can promise you that as we strive to be obedient to the commandments Heavenly Father has given us, we WILL bless us, in this life and in the life to come.

Alright Fan Club! Thanks for all of the love and support that you give me every week! I am so grateful to be on the Lords errand doing his work! I hope you all have a fabulous week, WORK HARD!
