ER Visits & Leprechauns 🍀

March 20, 2017

Hey Fan Club! I hope all of your weeks have just been fabulous, I always have so much fun reading all of your emails and I am so grateful for all of the loved and support that you show to me each week.

This week has been interesting for the least amount of words to use, but don't worry, I will give you the highlights!

I got a new companion this week! Her name is Sister Kristin Roach. She is from Danville, Virginia! She is the youngest in her family, she went to BYU Idaho before she came out on his mission. She is very Sassy. She is always making jokes about something. She is taller than Sister Gregory but she is still short. She goes home in August! I am excited to be able to see what things we can accomplish this transfer together (:

This week has been a lot of introducing Sister Roach to the area. It has been pretty productive. We did a lot of walking because some how our miles for this month are a little low, but walking is better for us anyway. It has been raining a lot here in Klamath Falls, but how could you expect anything else in Oregon! But I have learned that I love going out tracting in the rain. I think when it is raining outside that people suddenly start feeling bad for you and invite you in to talk a little more, mainly just so you can dry off, but usually that means that we can share a short message about the gospel as well. So you know, it works in our favor.

This week we had a cool experience at a less active members house. But at first it was weird. We called her to set up a time where we could come over and share a message, and she was like, sure why don't we meet at Dairy Queen and I will buy you dinner! Sister Roach andI got excited because we didn't have a dinner for the next day. So we set up a time and hung up a phone and then realized that the next day was Sunday... oops. We like signed up our less active to break the Sabbath Day. So then we called her back and decided to just go to her house and share a message instead of having dinner with her. So we went over there and it was actually a great time. We found out that she has been a member for like 20 years, and her roommate has been for 2 years, but her other roommate isn't a member. The conversation kind of turned into talking about General Conference. And the non member didn't know that we believed that there was a prophet on the earth today, so we started talking about what prophets do and how they can help up on the earth today. And eventually we were able to share a message with him, and we shared Thomas S Monson's testimony of Jesus Christ. We asked him if we could come back and share more and he agreed! We are super excited to start teaching him, and it all came from almost have a dinner at Dairy Queen on Sunday.

Alright, so I did go to the ER this week, I am not even sure that my parents know that.... so sorry. Anyway, we were doing some service on Friday and I was helping to push some table out of the way, and the table ended up calapsing. My thumb went backwards and it started to swell up. Well we called the mission nurse once we were out of service and she told us to go to the ER. After a hour and a half in the ER, an X-RAY and 4 different nurses. They decided that I hyper extended my thumb and that it sprained. So they gave me a brace and sent me on my way. I have been doing fine, it just hurts if I pick things up with that hand, so my right arm is getting a big work out for now. But it is getting better and they said that if it isn't better by Friday that I should go to another doctor, but I think that I will be fine. We got a call from President the other day and I said "Hey President, how is your day going?" And he said, "Well a lot better then Sister Harrison's thumb, haha" President Russell, funny man always making jokes! But all in all I am doing great 👍🏼

This week I just wanted to share a thought that I had this week while I was studying. I was thinking about the repentance process a lot this week, and I think sometimes when we are thinking about repentance, we think about changing all of the big and bad things that we are doing. But one thing that I was thinking about is that with repentance we also change the things that we are doing good to things that we are doing better. It reminded me of the talk entitled Good, Better, Best, by Dallin H Oaks. And I just wanted to share one quote from this talk, and it says, "We have to forego some good things in order to choose others that are better or best because they develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthen our families." I am so grateful for the repentance process that we can take into our lives. I am grateful for the opportunity that we have to change the maybe good things that we are doing to be better and best. Sometimes when we look at these things we need to remember to start with the little things first, in Alma 37:6, we read, "by small and simple things are great things brought to pass". And I know that as we change things small and simple things that in the end we will grow our faith in Jesus Christ and be able to return back to our Heavenly Father again some day. I invite you all to change those little things in your life!

Well you have made it to the end of my weekly accountings Fan Club, just so everyone knows my next Pday will be this Saturday because I will be on the way to the temple this week. I am so so so excited, I need the temple in my life. So if you want to hear from me, email me on Friday and Saturday!
