Hey
Fan Club! It's been another week in paradise! I really saw what all of
this work is about this week. So many miracles happened and I am
grateful to be a missionary! It brings me more happiness then I have
ever been able to have in my life. Also, I LOVE Oregon, so it is a
perfect place to be doing his work.
This
week we were able to take our investigator Pippi to a baptism that was
happening for a little girl in our ward. Pippi is 9 and has the desire
to be baptized but right now it is us trying to figure out how to
explain to her dad that 8 is the age of accountability to be baptized.
Especially because he doesn't want to sit down with us and have a
lesson. So we have been trying to teach Pippi while the ward has been
working on her dad. We took her to the baptism and she loved it! When
the little girl came back in the room Pippi went up and personally
congratulated her and then came up to me saying that she wants to get
baptized! She has so ugh knowledge and has been coming to church for
awhile now. We hope that we can talk to her dad more and that he will
allow her. Her dad is a returning less active and he is a convert to the
church himself, so right now he is also trying to learn some of the
basics to have that knowledge. We will keep teaching, and praying, that
is all that we can do!
This
week I was able to experience something that really showed me what this
work is all about. I had the opportunity this week to go and do
Baptisms for the Dead in the Medford Temple with my recent convert Vic
from Klamath Falls. They were doing a youth temple trip as well so I
swear that the temple was full with everyone that I love! I was a little
nervous driving down there and then when I was walking up someone saw
me and ran to greet me! In that moment it felt like I was returning
home! It was a neat experience. So Sister Lunt and I found a member
ride, then Sister Roach and I went into the temple while Sister Lunt and
Sister Roachs companion went and did some missionary work in Medford.
It was so much fun to be reunited with my Klamath Family and as I was
able to watch Vic do Baptisms for Family names that he was able to find
through family history my heart was full. I knew that I had done the
work I needed to help Vic get to the point that he could get to the
temple and I was grateful to be a part of that experience. I am so
grateful for the temple and for the work that goes on in there. I loved
the spirit that was there and I truly knew that is what it was all
about! Also, a girl named Jessica from Klamath was also able to come and
do baptisms as well, and I spoke at her baptism! So it was really just
an amazing day all around!
We
got to go crabbing today for Pday!!! It was seriously so much fun! I
didn't know what to expect and honestly I wasn't excited for it, BUT I
LOVED IT! I started naming the crabs and everything haha. The Elders are
teaching the man that took us with his family and his family are all
members. He is actually on date to get baptized in October once his son
comes home from his mission. So we had a lot of fun!!
This
week Sister Lunt and I have the great opportunity to teach at Zone
Conference! We are teaching about how asking questions in our teaching
can help our investigators learn and grow. But most importantly how
following the Spirit in all teaching situations is how we should teach.
Pray for us (:
A
Story from the Bible that has really struck a cord with me the last
couple of months has been Christ healing the woman with the blood
disease. It can be found in Mark 5:25-34. Well this week I read an
article from LDS.org
that was entitled "When you Reach for the Sacrament, You Reach for the
Savior". I LOVE IT, GO LOOK IT UP! From the story of the woman we see
one who is on her hands and knees, trying to reach for the Saviors robe,
with the faith that if she touches even a little bit of it that she
will be healed. Do we do the same thing when we reach for the sacrament?
Do we have the faith like that woman that every time we reach for the
sacrament or the Savior, that we can be made whole? The article then
goes on to talk about how this woman was able to find the faith to reach
out to the Savior. But I just want to testify that I know that as we
reach for the Savior each week with the sacrament that he has his arms
outstretched towards us. All we have to do is turn to him, reach for him
and have faith in him. His Atonement is real, and it can be used in all
of our lives. Because of our Savior we can all return to our Heavenly
Father again someday. I will be forever in debt to him. So I invite you
to reach for the Savior more in your life! Also, go read that article,
if you need it, EMAIL ME!
Alright
Fan Club, you survived yet another of my weekly emails. I am so
grateful for my time serving the Lord and grateful for the miracles that
I am able to be a part of every single day here in Oregon. I hope you
all have a great week this next week and I will talk to you soon! LOVE
YOU!
